Information from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DreamWorks_Animation
"DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. is an American animation studio based in Glendale, California that creates animated feature films, television programs, and online virtual worlds. They have released a total of twenty-six feature films, including the franchises of Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon. As of October 2012, its feature films have made $11 billion worldwide, with its $430 million average gross surpassing all other studios besides Pixar ($595 million). Three of DreamWorks Animation's films--Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, and Shrek Forever After—are among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time, and sixteen of the films are among the 50 highest-grossing animated films, with Shrek 2 being the fourth all-time highest. Even though the studio also made traditionally-animated films earlier, all of their films now utilise computer-animation. The studio has so far received two Academy Awards along with numerous Annie & Emmy Awards; as well as multiple Golden Globe & BAFTA nominations".
"The studio was formed by the merger of the feature animation division of DreamWorks and Pacific Data Images (PDI). Originally formed under the banner of DreamWorks in 1997 by some of Amblin Entertainment's former animation branch Amblimation alumni, it was spun off into a separate public company in 2004. DreamWorks Animation currently maintains two campuses: the original DreamWorks feature animation studio in Glendale, California and the PDI studio in Redwood City, California".
"Films produced by DreamWorks Animation were formerly distributed worldwide by the live-action DreamWorks studio, then by Paramount Pictures, a subsidiary of Viacom, who acquired the live-action DreamWorks studio in February 2006, spinning it off again in 2008. In 2013, however, 20th Century Fox, a subsidiary of News Corporation, took over distribution of DreamWorks Animation films for a 5-year-deal".

Company Analysis
Conglomeratization: DreamWorks Animation cannot be said to be too active in conglomeratization, though the company has been in the past. Dreamworks Animation is a sister company of DreamWorks SKG. DreamWorks Animation focuses just on animated movies where as DreamWorks SKG creates live action films. The studio began after the merging of DreamWorks and Pacific Data Images. Since 2004, DreamWorks Animation has been a public company. Additionally, DreamWorks Animation has had a working relationship with Paramount Pictures since 2006, when the latter began distributing the former's films. However, the upcoming Rise of the Guardians (Nov. 21) will be the last film distributed by Paramount, with next year's The Croods (Mar. 22) kickstarting a new relationship with 20th Century Fox.
Globalization: in regards to globalization, DreamWorks Animation is looking to expand in a very large market. Dreamworks Animation has sum aspects of globalization in their company because their company is directed mostly towards the youth and in order to get their product out to all of the youth they must find ways to market their movies and television shows to the rest of the worlds youth, not just the youth of America. In 2009 the first Madagascar Theme Park opened in Singapore. Moreover, A $31 billion, six-block cultural center in Shanghai is being developed, called the Dream Center. The project is expected to be finished in 2016, roughly the same time that Disney completes their park in the same city. Oriental DreamWorks has been created after a deal with China Media Capital, the Shanghai Media Group, and Shanghai Alliance, three large city-backed companies. Oriental DreamWorks will be producing films strictly for China. Another example of globalization is that DreamWorks Animation stated that they will develop and distribute their franchises and films worldwide.
Integration: As for integration, besides the previously mentioned Oriental DreamWorks, the company is not very integrated from any horizontal viewpoints. DreamWorks Animation does not own other companies in the same field. So this company is not very
horizontally Integrated. Although, this may be changing as earlier this year DreamWorks Animation acquired Classic Media (Casper, Lassie, etc.) in hopes to "expand their intellectual base". The subsidiary is now referred to as DreamWorks Classics. Also, DreamWorks Animation only comes close to vertical integration when considering the joint venture with Paramount Pictures, and, later, 20th Century Fox. Moreover, HP today announced that DreamWorks Animation SKG (Nasdaq: DWA) is integrating HP Cloud Services with Panzura’s Global Cloud Storage System to create a foundation for a global collaboration infrastructure.
Media Synergy: Most prominently, DreamWorks Animation is well versed with media synergy, releasing many different types of products based off of one film. For example, the Madagascar franchise leads to revenue well outside the movie theater. Outside of technology, DreamWorks Animation has developed Shrek into a musical, which has been a success since 2008. Apparently this has been a good investment, as theatrical adaptations of Kung-Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon are also being developed. Also, DreamWorks Animation works with Nickelodeon to produce the television series The Penguins of Madagascar, which is still on air today. This is part of media synergy.
